¡Ay Caramba! is the 2006, high energy, release from Ska Cubano, off, U.S. based, independent, Cumbancha. The album mixes familiar Jamaicanska, Afro-Cuban son, retro-swing, salsa and Colombiancumbia. The lively mix generates a sound that induces movement within the listener. 'Ay Caramba possesses the grainy authenticism of goodtimey Ska, just before the euphoria of Jamaican independence subsided, full of tall tales, late-nite shebeens, rum, and rhumba.'[Notes 1] Much of the album's success stems from the mixing of two, well known, tropical sounds- Jamaican and Cuban.[citation needed]
